Josef received his Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Palacký University in Olomouc. In 2002 and 2003, he completed the Specialization Course for Penitentiary Psychological Problems of the second life of imprisoned persons and the Specialization Course for Negotiators. In 2005, he successfully completed the self-experiential psychotherapy training at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in Prague. He then completed a course for working with the EEG Biofeedback Method, as well as a course for identifying suicidal behavior and providing crisis intervention, and accredited training for working with the Feuerstein's Method of Instrumental Enrichment focused on the development of cognitive functions. Since 2002, he has been providing professional psychological care and supportive psychotherapy at the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and also cooperates with the Police of the Czech Republic. At the end of 2007, he also started his own private counseling practice in Ostrava. He works individually and in groups and has over 20 years of experience in counseling. He focuses on a holistic approach – understanding the relationship between the body and psyche as two interconnected systems that work in direct connection. He helps clients find solutions and strategies to manage anxiety and stressful situations, how to deal with intrusive thoughts, how to learn to manage panic attacks or solve psychosomatic, relationship and family problems. He also works with the topics of personal development, work relationships, and mental and physical health care, as well as helping clients work with anger, rage, resentment, aggression, hatred, self-pity, and a self-harming behavior. He consults in the Czech language.
